4 pairs of scissors in the kitchen

Truly, at a minimum. It puts me at ease to know that I can always find at least one pair that isn't in the dishwasher, somehow in the yard, currently being utilized for a craft project. Haven't had to yell "Where Are The Scissors You Guys!!!" For years.
