Formative. I own seasons 1 and 2, season 3 was scheduled to be released in 2006, pressed and packaged, and has been sitting in a warehouse... because of music licensing issues? A travesty. I think of this show everytime I pull of an "inspected by" sticker off a new shirt.

“What We Did on our Summer Vacation”, like a lot of “The Adventures of Pete and Pete”, is about kid-grade loss. I suspect that’s part of making a children’s show so reliant on nostalgia; the world of Pete and Pete is perfect, but it is also passing. Anyhow if you like “Joe Pera Talks with You” or that one scene in Twin Peaks where Gordon can hear Shelly perfectly without his hearing aid, give it a shot. It also features Kate Pierson and Michael Stipe cameos, and Toby Huss wearing a giant plaste...
